A wildfire broke out early Tuesday afternoon in the Menidi suburb, located in the wider Athens area, prompting authorities to send an emergency alert via the 112 messaging system.
The fire reportedly started in an open lot and quickly spread, burning dangerously close to nearby residential areas. Firefighting teams were immediately dispatched to the scene to contain the blaze and protect homes in the vicinity.
So far, no official reports of injuries or significant property damage have been confirmed, but the situation remains under close monitoring.
