A 20-year-old woman in Thessaloniki suffered severe third-degree burns following surgery to remove a pilonidal cyst at Agios Pavlos Hospital. The young woman says she went in for what should have been a simple procedure, but the experience turned into a serious health ordeal.
According to her account, she felt some kind of liquid being applied near the end of the surgery. She wasn’t alarmed at first, but soon began feeling intense pain. She says doctors reassured her without disclosing how serious her condition actually was.
Once she got home, the 20-year-old realized the extent of the problem and was taken to Papanikolaou Hospital. There, doctors confirmed she had suffered third-degree burns and would need another surgery, this time involving a skin graft.
The young woman has already taken legal action against those responsible, seeking accountability for an incident that has left a lasting mark on her health.
