The Milwaukee Bucks suffered yet another setback early this morning, losing 129–126 to the Washington Wizards, the Eastern Conference’s last-place team. It was their eighth defeat in their last nine games, following a previous stretch of seven straight losses, and a move by Giannis Antetokounmpo triggered rumors about his future at the franchise.
Amid the team’s struggles, Giannis Antetokounmpo added fuel to an already tense atmosphere. The “Greek Freak” deleted nearly all photos related to the Bucks from his Instagram account, leaving only the image of him holding the NBA championship trophy and Finals MVP award, along with one featuring the NBA Cup.
The move has raised questions, especially given that Antetokounmpo’s future in Milwaukee was uncertain last summer, with U.S. reports confirming he had spoken with the New York Knicks.
It remains to be seen whether Antetokounmpo’s action, despite having 1+1 years left on his contract, signals something more significant or ultimately means nothing.
