Greece’s national basketball team scored 61 points in the first 20 minutes of a game against Latvia on Wednesday evening in a “friendly” 104-86 win.
Twenty of the first 61 points were contributed by NBA superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, in his return to action after four months and his inaugural participation with the national team ahead of the EuroBasket 2025.
Antetokounmpo scored 25 points in 15:18 minutes of playing time, with 7/9 free throws, 9/11 two-pointers, 0/1 three-pointers, 10 rebounds (posting a double-double), seven fouls won, three assists, two steals, two blocks, and one turnover in front of 9,500 fans at the Telekom Center Athens indoor arena.
The game was played as part of the Acropolis Tournament.
