The Greek men’s national water polo team on Monday downed perennial powerhouse Italy 15-13 for a five-game winning streak and top spot in Group F of the ongoing European Championship in Belgrade.
The Greek side also “punched” the first ticket for the semi-finals.
The “blue-and-white” squad will learn will learn their semi-final opponent on Tuesday, with the game coming on Friday evening. The next opponent will emerge after Tuesday’s Spain vs. Hungary and Serbia vs. Montenegro matches.

The Greek side overcame a previously unbeaten with team captain Stelios Argyropoulos as the top scorer with four goals, while Konstantinos Kakaris followed with three.
Goalie Panagiotis Tzortzatos made several crucial saves.
