Greek water polo is celebrating a second medal, following the women’s team’s gold win yesterday at the World Championships in Singapore, as the men’s national team defeated global powerhouse Serbia (16-7) in the game for 3rd place to secure bronze.
With the win, the Greek men’s national team’s medal tally reached 17 (five silver, 12 bronze) and fifth at a World Championships (one silver, four bronze). It adds to an impressive collection that includes one Olympic silver medal, two silver medals at World Cups, and four bronze medals in the World League.
The men’s team’s performance in Singapore came just one day after the women’s team’s historic world title, serving as a perfect finale for Greek water polo.
