Greek Olympic champion Stefanos Ntouskos delivered another impressive performance, winning the silver medal in the men’s single sculls final at the European Rowing Championships held in Plovdiv, Bulgaria earlier on Sunday.

Ntouskos crossed the finish line with a time of 6:44.90, securing second place in a tightly contested race.

The Tokyo 2020 gold medalist led the field at the 1,000-meter mark with a split time of 3:20.24, but was eventually overtaken by Belarusian rower Yauheni Zalaty, the silver medalist at the Paris Olympics, who went on to win gold.

The Greek 28-year-old rower held off strong challenges from Romania’s Mihai Chiruță, who finished third, and Germany’s Marc Weber, who came in fourth, to secure the silver.
