Tennis legend Björn Borg has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, the Swedish newspaper Expressen reported.
One of the greatest players in the history of the sport, known for his unmatched style on the court, reveals his health battle in a new autobiography titled Heartbeat, set to be released in Sweden on September 18. The book is already among the year’s most talked-about biographies for its many revelations.
Publisher Norstedts said the former “ice man” of tennis lifts the veil on unknown details from his turbulent life.
Written together with his wife, Patricia, the book has already been released in Italy through Amazon and other digital retailers. In it, Borg discloses his prostate cancer diagnosis. The news was confirmed by a source close to his Swedish publisher, though neither further details nor comments from Italian publisher Rizzoli have been made public.
Borg and his wife are keeping a low profile and avoiding Swedish media ahead of the autobiography’s official release in two weeks.
