Airports managed by Fraport Greece recorded a 9.1% increase in passenger traffic in February 2026, handling 720,000 passengers — 60,000 more than in the same month a year earlier, the company announced.
Fraport Greece airports posted an average load factor of 81.4% in February 2026, up from 77.1% in the same month a year earlier, as the network continued to build on its passenger growth momentum.
Domestic traffic accounted for the majority of passengers, reaching 448,000 — a gain of 42,000, or 10.5% year-on-year, representing a 62% share of total traffic. International passengers totaled 272,000, up 18,000 or 6.9%, accounting for the remaining 38%.
Since the start of the concession, Fraport Greece airports have collectively handled approximately 252 million passengers.
The monthly figures were partially flattered by a base effect on February 28, which alone contributed 24,000 additional passengers compared to the same date in 2025, when a nationwide air traffic controllers’ strike had effectively grounded flights across Greece.
Thessaloniki Airport was the standout performer, adding 30,000 passengers for a 7.1% increase and serving as the primary driver of the network’s positive monthly result. Both domestic and international segments contributed to the gain, with international traffic providing a slightly larger share.
Domestic traffic at Thessaloniki rose by 12,000 passengers, or 6.8%, while the load factor improved to 83.3% from 80.4% a year earlier. International growth of 7.3% was driven primarily by increased traffic from Turkey, Sweden, France, and Italy, the Czech Republic and Israel. Offsetting those gains, traffic from Germany, the Netherlands, and Romania.
