Rome, London, Paris, Istanbul and Vienna were the top five searches of Greek users for holidays abroad in 2023, according Google data processed and released by Tourix, a global tourism & travel marketing agency.

The omniscient internet and the Google’s dominant search engine have emerged as the primary tools for would-be travelers, particularly during the research and preparation phase of an upcoming trip, during which users actively seek practical information (such as accommodations) for the destination they’re eyeing.

According to the figures on Greek users’ searches, the “Top 10” cities with the biggest interest on the part of the latter last year were: Rome, London, Paris, Istanbul, Vienna, Milan, Barcelona, Budapest and Amsterdam. The only non-European destination in the top 10 is the tenth city cited in the study: Dubai.
