One of Greece’s natural wonders, the Vikos Gorge in northwest Greece’s mountainous Epirus province, is now listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the deepest gorge in the world, in proportion to its width.
On the occasion, a new drone-shot video captures a unique vista of the gorge.
The aerial footage reveals the grandeur of the landscape, with sheer cliffs forming a breathtaking natural setting, and following and highlighting the course of the gorge and its geological features and rugged beauty.
The video also reveals a geological history of hundreds of thousands of years etched into the rocks.
In the heart of Epirus, the Vikos Gorge is a landmark for nature lovers and adventurists and among the most important natural landmarks in Greece and Europe.
