About Maestro

Maestro, or Maestro in Blue, is a Greek drama social television series created, written and directed by Christoforos Papakaliatis.

The series premiered on Greek television by the Mega Channel on October 13, 2022. On November 11, 2022, the global subscription platform Netflix acquired the rights to the series and, in December, when the screening of the first season on Greek television had been completed, it was available for viewing under the title Maestro in Blue, making it the first Greek television series to be aired by the platform.

In Maestro, the character Orestis Emmanuel, a music teacher, travels to the picturesque Greek island of Paxos to take over the local music festival.  Orestis finds himself entangled in a love story with a young, aspiring musician named Clelia, as well as a murder. The series exposes the pathologies and social problems that plague some of Greece’s small island communities.
