Athens will host the 4th B&W Athens Photography Festival from February 14 to 16, 2026, turning the city into a meeting point for black-and-white photography enthusiasts, professionals and emerging artists from across the globe.

The festival will take place at a modern cultural venue operated by the Municipality of Athens, with free admission on all days. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore a large-scale exhibition featuring photographs by 350 artists from 70 countries, celebrating the expressive power of black-and-white imagery.
Sunday Program: Talks and Seminars
On Sunday, February 15, the festival program includes two special presentations held in a dedicated event space.

From 18:00 to 19:00, photographer and photography instructor Vangelis Vassalakis will lead a talk titled Composition in Black-and-White Street Photography. Through iconic examples and urban imagery, he will examine how composition guides the viewer’s eye and shapes visual storytelling in street photography. The presentation focuses on geometry, contrast, rhythm and the presence—or absence—of people, presenting black-and-white photography as a deliberate artistic choice rather than a limitation.

Later in the evening, from 20:00 to 21:00, Takis Anagnostou will present Mastering Color & Image, an advanced technical seminar for digital photographers. Drawing on decades of experience in graphic arts and digital image processing, the session explores professional workflows, file management, colour management, screen calibration and best practices in Adobe Photoshop and Camera Raw, aiming to help photographers improve image quality without technical barriers.
