Freud’s Last Session (2023)

Two days after the start of World War II, Sigmund Freud (Anthony Hopkins) meets with iconic Irish-British author C.S. Lewis (Matthew Goode) at the psychoanalyst’s London home in September 1939. The two men discuss various topics, including faith, religion, father figures, sex, trauma, and their relationships with relatives and others. The film is a cinematic adaptation of Mark St. Germain’s stage play of the same name, based on the book The Question of God by Armand Nicholi.

The Book of Solutions (Le Livre des solutions, 2023)

Oscar-winning director Michel Gondry’s latest film centers on Marc (Pierre Niney), a film director whose career is in turmoil. Unhappy with his current situation, he steals the files of his unfinished film and retreats to his aunt’s village house to complete it. Accompanied by his film crew, Marc battles his inner demons and reconnects with his creativity. The Book of Solutions is loosely based on Gondry’s experiences during the troubled production of his 2013 film Mood Indigo.
