Greek jazz vocalist Nassia Gofa will take the stage at Half Note Jazz Club on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, presenting a dynamic live performance alongside her ensemble, The Jazz Tales, and special guest saxophonist Max Hacker.
The concert marks Gofa’s return to the renowned Athens venue following a series of international appearances, including performances in Seville, Spain, and participation in festivals across Greece. Known for her long-standing presence in the vocal jazz scene, Gofa has built a reputation through collaborations with leading musicians and a consistent exploration of the genre.
The program will feature music from her album “Herkyna – Nassia Gofa & The Jazz Tales – From Darkness to Light,” alongside new, unreleased compositions. The performance will also incorporate original works by Max Hacker, as well as selected pieces from the broader jazz repertoire. The set aims to expand beyond the conceptual framework of “Herkyna,” introducing fresh improvisational and compositional elements.
Max Hacker, a Berlin-based saxophonist, joins the group as a special guest. He studied jazz in New York during the 1990s before returning to Germany, where he has remained an active figure in the contemporary European jazz scene. Hacker has released three albums as a bandleader through In&Out Records, earning critical acclaim for his distinctive musical voice and deep connection to jazz tradition.
The upcoming performance promises a multifaceted jazz experience, blending established works with new creative directions in an evening that highlights both collaboration and innovation.
