Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ flight to Zurich on Wednesday to attend the annual World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, was cancelled due to a severe thunderstorm front battering the greater Athens area.
He was initially set to depart with a corporate jet from a military airbase in Elefsina, due west of the Greek capital.
Reports state that he will depart on Thursday morning, weather permitting.
The one-day delay means that only a portion of his itinerary in the Swiss resort town will be achieved, as he is due to depart for Brussels on Thursday afternoon to attend an informal EU Summit and working dinner.
