Doublepoint has unveiled a new application called WowMouse, designed to transform an Android smartwatch into a computer mouse, during the CES 2024 event in Las Vegas.

This innovative application operates by hand gestures and finger pinching for clicks, similar to the Double Tap feature on the Apple Watch Series 9.

The WowMouse application, available on Google Play, functions by converting the smartwatch into a mouse through Bluetooth Human Interface Devices (HID).

Doublepoint’s WowMouse has been confirmed to operate on Windows, Linux, macOS, and iPadOS. It has been tested and proven to work on certain Wear OS watches, including the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4, 5, and 6. However, the company notes some issues with the Pixel Watch’s click functionality. Apple watches, on the other hand, do not support Bluetooth HID, leading Doublepoint to state that an application for watchOS cannot be developed.

Going beyond the conventional use of a mouse, Doublepoint envisions broader applications for its software. The company is appealing to manufacturers and developers for licensing its software to adjust the intensity of smart light through the rotation of the wrist.

However, this ambitious venture may face challenges, as immediate investment from companies supporting an application exclusive to the smartwatch market may not be available as yet.
