16-Year-Old Boy Hospitalized After Attack at Trikala Festival

A teenager was beaten by another 16-year-old during a local festival in Farkadona, Trikala, after comments about his clothing, leaving him with serious head injuries and requiring hospital treatment

A 16-year-old boy was seriously injured after being violently attacked by another teenager during a festival in Farkadona, in the Trikala region of central Greece.

The incident, described by the victim’s family as a severe case of bullying and violence, allegedly began when the attacker approached the boy during the event and confronted him over his appearance and the clothes he was wearing.

According to the teenager’s mother, the attacker insulted her son and told him: “Not here where there are cameras, let’s go somewhere else to talk. I’ll kill you. What’s wrong with you?” She said the teenager continued making comments about her son’s appearance and clothing before the attack escalated.

The mother described the moments of violence, saying the attacker grabbed her son in a headlock. The 16-year-old tried to resist, but was punched repeatedly, leaving him with a blackened eye. She said the attacker then dragged him across the road and repeatedly hit his head against a parked vehicle.

The teenager suffered a concussion and head injuries. His mother said that at first he could not remember all the details of what had happened. She added that her son knew the attacker by appearance, as they came from neighboring villages.

The attack caused panic at the festival, with bystanders reportedly intervening to separate the two teenagers and protect the victim. The injured boy was initially taken to the General Hospital of Trikala and was later transferred to a hospital in Larissa for further examinations and treatment.

“He is still shocked and trying to recover,” the boy’s father said.

The family’s lawyer, Stelios Sourlas, said the family immediately contacted the local police department and filed a complaint over the criminal acts against the minor.
