Three army conscripts, with other media reports citing five, were injured during a firing range accident at the Zitsa camp in northwest Greece, during a scheduled exercise.

The soldiers were taken to the Ioannina university hospital, with injuries resulting from the shock wave from “thrusters”, still sketchy reports from the area, initially by the website Epiruspost, stated.

The trio of servicemen were transported by army ambulances to the hospital, with their situation deemed as non-life threatening, the same reports added.

Universal military conscription applies to all able-bodied male Greek citizens living in the country, with certain other provisions in place for Greek citizens living permanently abroad.
