The Syntagma metro station in central Athens will be closed from 17:30 on Thursday, March 12, following instructions from the Hellenic Police.
Authorities confirmed that trains will continue to run along their usual routes but will pass through Syntagma without allowing passengers to board or exit.
The measure is part of heightened security protocols frequently implemented in downtown Athens, especially during public gatherings or demonstrations in Syntagma Square.
The closure coincides with a planned anti-war protest, organized by various civic groups and associations, in response to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. The demonstration is expected to include a march toward the U.S. Embassy later in the evening.
