Athens public transportation will operate on modified schedules over the August 15 holiday, known in Greece as the Dormition of Mary, with buses, trolleybuses, Metro lines and trams running less frequently on some days.
The Athens Urban Transport Organization (OASA) announced the schedules for the holiday period to help passengers plan their journeys.
Buses and trolleybuses
On Friday, August 14, and Monday, August 17, buses and trolleybuses will operate under an emergency schedule based on the normal weekday timetable.
On Saturday, August 15, all routes will operate on a Sunday schedule.
The routes that operate 24 hours a day will continue to run normally, following their usual Saturday schedules.
On Sunday, August 16, all bus and trolleybus routes will again operate on a Sunday schedule.
Passengers can check the daily schedules for all urban and suburban routes through OASA’s official website, the OASA Telematics app or the organization’s information center at 11185.
Metro and tram services
Passengers can check the frequencies for Metro Lines 1, 2 and 3 and the tram during the August 15 holiday period through the official website of the Athens fixed-track transport operator, STASY.
On Saturday, August 15, Metro Lines 2 and 3 and Tram Lines T6 and T7 will operate around the clock, as they normally do on Saturdays.
