Bear Attacks Man in Meteora

After struggling with the animal for a short while, the man managed to escape, but not before sustaining injuries to his abdomen. 

A man was transferred to a hospital in Trikala, central Greece, after being attacked by a bear near the town of Kalabaka, in the municipality of Meteora, within the Trikala regional unit.

According to local media reports, the man and his wife were visiting a small chapel in the Agiofyllos area. Upon their return, the man exited his vehicle to observe a pack of wild boars when a bear suddenly attacked him.

After struggling with the animal for a short while, the man managed to escape, but not before sustaining injuries to his abdomen.

The injured man was immediately taken to the General Hospital of Trikala, where he received first aid and stitches for his wounds. As a precaution, he remained hospitalized for observation.
