A 54-year-old man in Crete has formally denied allegations that he sexually abused his two daughters, as the case moves forward in the Greek justice system. The accusations, which include repeated rape and abuse, have sparked widespread concern due to their severity and the vulnerability of the alleged victims.
The case came to light earlier this week after the girls, aged 15 and 24, reported the alleged abuse to police with the support of their older brother. According to the complaint, the abuse is said to have taken place over an extended period, from 2024 until only days ago. One of the daughters is reported to have an intellectual disability, a factor that has heightened public sensitivity around the case.
The father faces multiple charges, including repeated rape, sexual acts involving a minor, physical harm and threats. He is expected to testify before an investigating judge in the coming days. His 42-year-old wife, who was also arrested, is accused of physically assaulting the children and is scheduled to give testimony separately.
Both parents strongly deny all accusations. Their lawyers claim there is no evidence to support the allegations and argue that witness testimony will disprove them. Relatives of the couple have also publicly expressed support, stating that no abuse ever occurred.
