Online applications remain open for admission to the seven Experimental Vocational Apprenticeship Schools (PEPAS) operated by Greece’s Public Employment Service (DYPA), for the 2026–2027 academic year.
According to DYPA, applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, 2026.
Applicants can choose from three high-demand specializations in tourism and hospitality: hotel reception officer, culinary arts technician, and food service technician.
Admission to the first year is open to candidates aged 18 or older who hold at least a lower secondary school certificate or an equivalent qualification.
Those applying for the hotel reception specialization must also demonstrate certified B2-level proficiency in English, French, or German.
Applications are submitted online through gov.gr using TAXISnet credentials. Prospective students can also use DYPA_GO, the service’s digital adviser, which provides personalized guidance based on individual needs through the same gov.gr service and the DYPA schools website.
DYPA said the seven apprenticeship schools operate in Athens, Thessaloniki, Corfu, Heraklion, Mytilene, Patras, and Rhodes, following Greece’s dual education model.
The program combines classroom and laboratory instruction with practical on-the-job training, enabling apprentices to gain both technical skills and real-world work experience.
The school-based training runs from November to April, while workplace apprenticeships take place from May through October in four- and five-star hotels. Apprentices work eight hours a day, five days a week.
During their hotel placements, apprentices receive a daily wage equal to 95% of the statutory minimum daily wage for manual workers, amounting to 39.04 euros per day.
