The countdown has begun for Greece’s selection of its Eurovision 2026 entry, with a major change introduced to how the public can take part in the voting process.
This year’s representative will be chosen through the televised competition “Sing for Greece – National Final 2026,” held ahead of the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna. A total of 28 songs will compete across two semi-finals, airing on Wednesday, February 11, and Friday, February 13. Qualification to the final will be decided exclusively by public vote.
The Grand Final, scheduled for Sunday, February 15, will determine the winning song through a combined voting system: 50% public vote, 25% from a Greek jury, and 25% from an international jury. In the event of a tie, the public vote will have the final say.
Online Voting Introduced for the First Time
In a significant change, audiences will be able to vote in two ways:
- SMS voting from mobile phones with Greek numbers
- Online voting, available both inside and outside Greece, via the official platform at sfg.vote
This marks the first time online voting is being offered, allowing Greeks living abroad to participate directly in selecting the country’s Eurovision entry. Voting instructions will also be accessible via a QR code displayed on screen during all three broadcasts.
Live Broadcast and Production
All three shows will be broadcast live on ERT1, Greece’s public television channel, and streamed via ERTFLIX, including accessibility services. The shows will be hosted by Giorgos Kapoutzidis, Betty Maggira, and Katerina Vrana, with Fokas Evangelinos overseeing artistic direction and staging.
