Final Bell Rings for Greek High Schools Ahead of Exam Season

For third-year students (G’ Lyceum), graduation exams — also known as in-school final examinations — will begin on Monday, May 18, and will conclude on Monday, May 25, 2026.

The final school bell will ring today, Friday, May 15, for high schools across Greece, marking the end of regular classes and the beginning of the examination period starting next week.

More specifically, promotion exams for first- and second-year upper secondary students (A’ and B’ Lyceum) will take place from Monday, May 18, 2026, through Friday, June 12, 2026. Final results are scheduled to be released by June 19.

For third-year students (G’ Lyceum), graduation exams — also known as in-school final examinations — will likewise begin on Monday, May 18, but will conclude earlier, on Monday, May 25, 2026, ahead of the nationwide Panhellenic university entrance examinations. Results for the graduation exams are expected to be announced by May 27, 2026.
