Google’s AI Mode Goes Live in Greece with Greek-Language Support

The new AI-powered search experience will be rolling out to users in 50 countries in the next week with support in 36 additional languages.

Starting Wednesday, October 8, Greek users can access AI Mode directly through the Google Search results page or via the Google app on Android and iOS.

The feature will appear as a separate tab labeled “AI Mode” and will gradually become available to all users over the next week.

The move is part of Google’s global expansion of its AI-powered Search experience, known as AI Mode, to 50 new countries and territories, including Greece. The rollout also introduces support for 36 additional languages, bringing the total to more than 35 languages across over 200 countries and territories.

Powered by Google’s latest Gemini models, the upgraded search experience offers enhanced natural language understanding and multimodal capabilities, which means that it can now process not just text but also images and other types of input. This enables users to ask more complex or abstract questions and receive detailed, contextually relevant answers in Greek.

The Gemini model used for Search has been fine-tuned to reflect the linguistic and cultural nuances of each supported language. This allows AI Mode to adapt its responses to local contexts, providing users with follow-up questions, related web links, and more personalized information.

According to Google, early data shows that with AI Mode enabled, users tend to explore more complex topics and submit questions nearly three times longer than traditional search queries. The company says this shift reflects a growing interest in conversational, context-rich information discovery.
