Despite falling continuously in recent years, unemployment among young adults remains high in Greece – in fact, second in the EU, behind Spain. Nonetheless, a recent study shows that certain jobs are in high demand from employers in the greater Athens area.

According to a recent LinkedIn study conducted as part of the platform’s annual “Jobs on the Rise” list, the occupations most sought after by European, and Athenian, employers are R&D scientists, “headhunters”, cybersecurity analysts, data engineers, and systems/app/product consultants. No surprises there, then.

The figures are for 2024 and were derived from the job markets in 12 major European cities. As in other European metropolises, IT specialists, human resource managers and scientists are in high demand in Athens.
