Lifeguard Rescues Seven Swimmers in Kefalonia

A beach lifeguard safely brought seven people, including two children, back to shore after strong waves and currents pulled them into deeper waters off a Kefalonia beach.

A lifeguard rescued seven swimmers after they were swept out to sea by strong waves and currents at a beach on the Greek island of Kefalonia.

The incident took place on Friday, July 3, at Avythos Beach, when powerful sea currents began pulling swimmers away from the shore and into deeper waters.

Most of the people in the water managed to return to land, but seven swimmers, including two children, were unable to fight the waves and make their way back.

The beach lifeguard reacted immediately and entered the water despite the difficult conditions.

After a two-hour rescue operation, the lifeguard managed to guide all seven swimmers safely back to the beach.

No injuries were reported following the incident.
