A man was found dead inside a clothes recycling bin in the early hours of Thursday in the high-end southern Athens suburb of Glyfada.
According to initial reports, the man—believed to be of Roma origin—had attempted to retrieve clothes from the container but became trapped inside.
Firefighters were called to the scene and attempted to free him, but by the time he was removed from the container, he was already dead.
Just hours earlier, a separate accident on an avenue in the southern suburb of Elliniko left one woman dead and three others injured. The collision, involved three private vehicles and a taxi. A 64-year-old woman was killed in the crash, while three other people were taken to hospital with injuries.
