Man Threatened Suicide at Police Station

Police officers in western Achaia reportedly talked a 75-year-old man out of harming himself after he entered the station carrying a gasoline container and threatened to pour it over himself.

A 75-year-old man entered a police station in western Achaia, southern Greece, carrying a container of gasoline and threatening to pour it over himself and take his own life, authorities said.

The incident occurred Saturday afternoon, Aug. 22, at the Western Achaia Police Department.

According to information reported by Tempo24.News, police officers managed to handle the situation through calm negotiations and persuaded the man not to carry out his threat.

The man’s motives remain unknown, and authorities are investigating the incident.
