New information sheds light on the brutal murder that took place in Thessaloniki within a bar, where a 32-year-old police officer was fatally stabbed by a 44-year-old Norwegian.
It all began shortly after 4 a.m. at a bar on Katsimidi Street in Thessaloniki.

According to sources, a verbal altercation occurred between the assailant and the police officer’s best man, who was also present at the establishment.
The 32-year-old officer attempted to intervene and separate them, at which point the 44-year-old pulled out a knife and fatally wounded him. Further details suggest that one of the wounds was inflicted on the victim’s neck.

The police officer’s best man rushed out onto the street, calling for help.

Prior to the fatal stabbings of the 32-year-old, the 44-year-old had also injured the police officer’s best man.

The 32-year-old succumbed to his injuries almost immediately after the stabbings.

According to thestival.gr, the bar where the murder took place is located adjacent to the Riot Police (MAT) facilities on Katsimidi Street.
Law enforcement officers from a unit stationed at their headquarters rushed to the scene and managed to apprehend the assailant.

An investigation into the tragic incident is being conducted by the Homicide Department of the Thessaloniki Security Directorate.

The police officer’s best man was taken to the Hippokration Hospital by an ambulance from the National Emergency Aid Center (EKAB) with knife wounds.
