Police Probe Links Between Nea Peramos and 2024 Killing

Investigators are examining business ties, financial motives and forensic evidence for possible connections between the murder of a 27-year-old man and a similar case in western Attica last year.

Greek authorities are intensifying their investigation into the murder of a 27-year-old man in Nea Peramos, examining possible links to the 2024 killing of a businessman in the nearby town of Mandra, while also reviewing new forensic and financial evidence.

Police are focusing on whether the victim’s company was a continuation of a business previously run by a 47-year-old entrepreneur who was murdered in 2024 in a similar manner. That firm had operated for years, supplying staff to factories and other businesses in the area and reportedly generated significant profits.

Authorities are also looking into the victim’s financial situation, as he had inherited large sums of money and real estate from his grandfather, according to police sources.

Possible business links

The earlier company was reportedly managed by the 47-year-old victim and a man of Albanian origin. The latter had been considered a suspect in the 2024 killing due to financial disputes with his partner. He later died in a car crash in the Elefsina area in April 2024. The 27-year-old who was recently killed had also been involved in that crash, which claimed the life of the company’s co-owner.

Police believe the 27-year-old later continued similar business activities and in December 2025 founded a new staffing company.

Abduction and forensic findings

The victim’s abduction took place on the night of January 26. Six days later, authorities found him dead in a stream in Nea Peramos.

A forensic examination found he had been beaten on the night of his abduction, with injuries to his lips and a superficial wound on his forehead. However, examiners found no signs of torture or extensive beating on the rest of his body.

The report concluded that he had been shot 10 times — nine times in the back and once in the back of the skull. Three of the bullets passed through his body at chest level.

Forensic experts also determined that he had eaten shortly before his death, identifying the meal as bulgur and tabbouleh.

Investigators say the perpetrators tried to destroy evidence by setting fire to the body. The burning appears to have focused on the hands, likely to eliminate fingerprints, DNA under the nails, or signs of restraint. The victim’s face remained largely intact.

Partner’s testimony under review

Investigators are also closely reviewing the testimony of the 27-year-old’s partner. She gave a lengthy statement to the homicide unit on Tuesday afternoon, and authorities believe her account could prove crucial.

Earlier video evidence had already contradicted parts of her initial statement about the moments before the abduction. Footage reportedly shows the attackers intercepting the victim on the street and forcing him into a car before he could enter his apartment building.

Authorities continue to examine business records, personal connections and forensic evidence as they work to determine whether the Nea Peramos killing is connected to the 2024 case.
