The precautionary advisory against using tap water in Sivira, Halkidiki, for drinking, food preparation, and brushing teeth has been lifted, after the latest microbiological checks showed water quality is within permitted limits.
According to the Municipality of Kassandra, the third and final testing report from KE.P.A.M.A.CH. found that the sample analysis results fall within the prescribed microbiological limits.
Following these results, and based on available scientific data, the precautionary recommendation issued earlier has now been withdrawn.
The Municipality noted that from the moment the initial test results became known, all required measures were immediately implemented in line with guidance from the relevant health authorities, with public health protection as the top priority.
It also stressed that the original announcement had been purely precautionary in nature, issued to inform residents promptly and ensure their safety, in the interest of transparency and responsible communication.
The Municipality of Kassandra added that the initial warning received wide media coverage, and it hopes today’s announcement will receive similar attention, so that residents and visitors alike are informed that water quality has been restored and the matter has been positively resolved.
