A wave of grief has struck the island of Kefalonia after a 23-year-old man tragically lost his life early Friday morning. His car plunged into the sea along the Skala–Poros road under circumstances that remain unclear.
According to reports from Kefalonia Focus, the accident was first noticed by a man on a boat in the area, who immediately alerted authorities. The young man’s relatives had been searching for him for hours before the emergency response arrived.
Firefighters and the Volunteer Emergency Response Team of Eleiou-Pronon rushed to the scene and recovered the driver from the water. Despite their efforts, he could not be saved.
Authorities are currently investigating the causes of the crash, while the local community mourns the untimely loss of the young man.
