Two 13-year-old boys were safely rescued after becoming trapped in the bed of the Arachthos River, in western Greece when water levels rose unexpectedly while they were playing near the riverbank.

According to reports, the teenagers found themselves stranded after the water suddenly became deeper, preventing them from returning to shore. The rising water trapped them in an area filled with reeds, prompting an immediate emergency response.

Firefighters and police were mobilized to the scene as authorities worked to reach the boys and bring them to safety. The rescue operation involved 12 firefighters and five vehicles from the local fire service, with police officers also assisting.

After a coordinated effort, rescuers successfully reached the teenagers and safely removed them from the area.
