Athens authorities have announced temporary traffic changes on Vasilissis Sofias Avenue this weekend as roadworks take place. The restrictions will affect both directions at key points, with traffic redirected to remaining open lanes.
On Saturday, February 7, from 07:00 to 15:00, the right lane near number 23 and the junction with Herodotou Street will be closed in the direction toward Syntagma Square.
On Sunday, February 8, lane closures will include:
- 07:00 to 10:00: Right lane near number 23 and the Herodotou Street junction, toward Syntagma.
- 07:00 to 15:00: Right lane near the intersection with Alexandras Avenue, affecting:
- Traffic toward Syntagma Square in the second lane from the right.
- Traffic toward Kifisia in the right lane.
During the closures, vehicles will be able to move using the remaining open lanes.
The Athens Traffic Police (EL.AS.) has urged drivers to exercise caution, follow posted signage, and allow for extra travel time when passing through the affected areas.
