Greece wrapped up its exceptional presence at the rowing finals at the Mediterranean Games by picking up four medals — one gold, two silver and one bronze.
The gold came in the women’s double sculls, where Christina Bourbou and Eleni Diavati delivered the standout performance of the day, finishing first in 7:10.86, ahead of Turkey (7:19.67) and Italy (7:23.79), who took second and third, respectively.
In the men’s double sculls, Giannoulis and Cholopoulos took bronze, crossing the line in 6:32.92. Serbia won gold in 6:25.37, with Italy second in 6:28.57.
Greece also had a strong showing in the lightweight events, taking silver in both the women’s and men’s competitions.
In the women’s lightweight double sculls, Mouratidou and Lioliou finished second in 7:15.74. Italy took gold in 7:12.05, while Tunisia claimed bronze in 7:21.69.
The men’s lightweight double sculls produced the same result for Greece, as Kotsias and Athanasiadis finished second in 6:33.44. Italy won gold in 6:31.53, while France took bronze in 6:34.26.
