Visitors to the popular Zagori region in Epirus, northern Greece, will soon have to pay a €0.75 culture fee that will go towards protection.

The two islands join a growing list of European destinations looking to ease pressure from mass tourism by charging day-trippers an entry fee.

With over 500,000 annual visitors, the island hopes the proposed charge will ease overcrowding and support local services.
