Greece Opens 19 Ancient Sites to Gastronomy Events

Through curated culinary events, visitors can now experience ancient Greek sites and monuments in an entirely new way.

Nineteen archaeological sites across Greece can now be used as venues for unique gastronomic events under the newly launched “The Eaternity Experience”, an initiative by the Greek Culture Ministry’s Hellenic Organization of Cultural Resources Development (ODAP).

Part of ODAP’s Hellenic Heritage brand, The Eaternity Experience aims to enhance Greece’s cultural tourism offering by bringing together heritage and gastronomy. Through curated culinary events, visitors can now experience ancient monuments in an entirely new way.

The program offers the opportunity to host gastronomy-themed events in 19 selected archaeological sites, museums, and monuments, including Nicopolis in Epirus, Delphi in Central Greece, the Palace of the Grand Master on Rhodes, and Niokastro in Pylos, among others.

Event planners and F&B professionals can design immersive experiences that showcase local products, traditional Greek cuisine, and wines, all while highlighting the historical importance of each site.

Every event is organized in full compliance with strict cultural heritage protection protocols to ensure the preservation of Greece’s ancient treasures, ODAP notes.

Initially piloted in 2022, The Eaternity Experience is part of ODAP’s broader strategy to tap into two of Greece’s strongest assets: culture and gastronomy, creating opportunities for economic growth and sustainable tourism.
