Warning sirens sounded again in the area of Akrotiri on Thursday as authorities issued an emergency alert to residents about a developing security threat.

According to the message sent to local residents, people were instructed to remain inside their homes until further official updates are provided.

The alert stated that a security threat was currently underway and urged the public to stay in place and follow safety precautions. Residents were also advised to move away from windows and take shelter behind or beneath solid, sturdy furniture.

Authorities emphasized that citizens should remain indoors and wait for additional instructions as the situation continues to be monitored.

The message reads as follows:  “There is an ongoing security threat. Please remain inside your homes and stay in place until further official instructions. Keep away from windows and take cover behind or under sturdy, solid furniture. Await further guidance.”
