A spell of severe weather is expected to prevail over much of the country during the next three days, bringing heavy rainfall and thunderstorms, mainly across the western regions.

The emergency weather bulletin issued by the Hellenic National Meteorological Service (HNMS) remains in effect.

Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected throughout the day in the Ionian Islands, Epirus, western Central Greece, and the Peloponnese, while temporary storms are forecast for Macedonia and late at night in Thrace. In the rest of the country, cloudy skies will prevail with light, scattered showers at times.

No significant change is expected, with midday highs reaching 16–19°C in the north, 20–22°C in most other regions, and up to 24°C in Crete.

Southerly winds will blow up to 6 Beaufort in the Ionian Sea, reaching 7 Beaufort in the morning before gradually weakening. In the Aegean Sea, winds will range between 5–6 Beaufort.

Weather in Athens & Thessaloniki

Athens: Cloudy with periods of rain; isolated thunderstorms may occur around midday. Temperatures will range from 13–21°C, with southerly winds at 4–5 Beaufort, strengthening to 6 Beaufort in the afternoon.

Thessaloniki: Unsettled weather with rain throughout the day and scattered thunderstorms, improving by night. Temperatures between 13–19°C, and southeast winds at 4–5 Beaufort, briefly reaching 6 Beaufort at midday.
