Athens welcomes the fourth WOW – Women of the World Festival on March 27-30 at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC), a frontrunner in cultural and social initiatives.

Organized in collaboration with the WOW Foundation, the annual festival is the world’s largest event dedicated to women, femininities, and non-binary people. It serves as a platform for diverse voices, fostering dialogue on gender equality.

Over four days, the SNFCC will come alive with an impressive lineup of events and speakers. Through a dynamic mix of talks, music, dance, poetry, theater, workshops, and storytelling, the festival aims to spotlight pressing social issues while inspiring and empowering future generations through mentorship and collaboration.

Highlights this year include concerts by acclaimed artists, such as popular French pop-soul singer Imany, who will take the stage on March 30 at 9 p.m., and internationally renowned Greek pianist and composer Tania Giannouli, performing on March 27 at 9 p.m.

The WOW Foundation was founded in 2018 by Jude Kelly to support the global movement behind the WOW – Women of the World Festival, which first launched in London in 2010. Its mission is to celebrate the achievements of women and girls, raise awareness about gender inequality, and encourage solutions-oriented dialogue.

Since its launch, WOW has grown into a worldwide initiative, hosting more than 100 festivals and events across 45 locations on six continents, reaching over five million people. Participating countries have included Australia, Brazil, China, Egypt, Finland, Greece, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Somaliland, the UK and the US.

Artists, activists, and thinkers who have participated in past WOW events include Angela Davis, Malala Yousafzai, Annie Lennox, Patrick Stewart, Doreen Lawrence, and Salma Hayek, alongside thousands of women and girls from local communities.

Admission to most festival events is free, while tickets are required for concert performances. Check out the program on the WOW Athens official website.
