Ruling New Democracy (ND) party was recorded at 31% in terms of voters’ preference in the latest opinion poll by the Pulse firm, which was presented on Thursday evening.
The results of the poll, which were presented on the primetime newscast of Skai, came from a survey conducted from March 29 to 31, therefore after the requests by the European Prosecutor’s Office to strip the immunity of 11 current and former ND deputies in the ongoing agriculture subsidies scandal.
Pulse shows a slight increase of one percentage point in voting intention for main opposition PASOK after its recent party conference, although only 19% of the general public said they viewed the latter “positively” or “with interest.” The survey indicates a seven-party parliament, with the nascent and hard-right Foni Logikis (Voice of Reason) party narrowly reaching the 3% threshold to enter parliament.
Among the other currently Parliament-represented parties:
SYRIZA loses a full percentage point, dropping to 4% in voting intention.
The Elliniki Lysi (Greek Solution) party loses half a point and ties for third place at 7.5% with Plefsi Eleftherias, which gains half a point.
The Communist Party (KKE) also records marginal gains of half a percentage point.
The main opposition party appears to be securing second place in the current political landscape, now holding a 5.5-percentage point lead over Plefsi and Elliniki Lysi in vote estimate.
A potential new party led by Maria Karystianou is viewed positively by 13% of respondents and with interest by another 13%.
