Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis held a phone call with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, during which the two leaders discussed the latest developments across the Middle East, including the situations in Iran and Lebanon.
During the conversation, Mitsotakis emphasized the importance of preventing further escalation in a region already under severe strain. He also voiced concern over the deteriorating situation in the West Bank, where violence by Israeli settlers against Palestinians has been on the rise since the outbreak of the Israel-Gaza war.
The Greek prime minister further underlined that every possible effort must be made to ensure the continued flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza, the Palestinian coastal enclave that has been at the center of the conflict.
The call reflects Greece’s ongoing engagement with the broader Middle East crisis and its support for a diplomatic path forward.
