Greek Minister of Development and Investments Takis Theodorikakos met with Ben Black, Chief Executive Officer of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), as part of his official visit to the United States.
According to Greece’s Ministry of Development, the discussions reaffirmed Washington’s intention to finance new, strategically significant development projects in Greece, with a strong focus on energy, industry, and advanced technologies.
The two sides also reiterated U.S. interest in further utilizing the Elefsina Shipyards as a key hub for port operations, logistics, and energy. They agreed to strengthen cooperation between the U.S. and the Greek Ministry of Development to accelerate progress on these targeted initiatives.
During his visit to Washington, Theodorikakos also held a high-level meeting with U.S. Secretary of the Interior and Chair of the Energy Sovereignty Council, Doug Burgum. Their talks centered on new American investments in Greece, the country’s growing role as a transit and geostrategic hub, and collaboration in critical sectors including energy, innovation, and shipbuilding.
During his stay in Washington, the minister additionally conferred with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy and the Environment, Jacob Helberg, with meetings with Jerry Hendricks, head of the Office of Management and Budget for the shipbuilding industry, and Robert Andrews, director of shipbuilding at the National Security Council, also scheduled.
