10-Year-Old Suffers Cardiac Arrest at Pool in Thessaloniki

Emergency responders revived the child after the incident at a public swimming facility; the boy remains in critical condition in hospital.

A 10-year-old boy is in critical condition after suffering cardiac arrest while participating in activities at a public swimming facility in Thessaloniki, northern Greece, authorities said.

The incident occurred around midday on Wednesday, March 11, at the Poseidonio Swimming Pool complex. Emergency services were immediately alerted, prompting a rapid response from paramedics and a doctor from the Thessaloniki unit of Greece’s national emergency medical service.

Rescuers applied advanced life support protocols at the scene and managed to revive the child.

After stabilizing him, medical teams transported the boy to Hippokration Hospital in Thessaloniki for further examination and treatment.

According to local reports, the child remains hospitalized in critical condition.
