Athens Flying Week 2026 Set for September 5-6

Greece's largest air show returns to Tanagra Air Base with military aircraft, aerobatic teams, historic warbirds and international participants from across Europe and beyond

Athens Flying Week, Greece’s premier air show and the largest aviation event in the Eastern Mediterranean, will return to Tanagra Air Base on September 5 and 6, bringing together modern fighter jets, aerobatic displays, historic aircraft and international air forces.

According to the organizers, the 2026 edition will feature one of the event’s most extensive line-ups to date, with dozens of military, aerobatic and transport aircraft taking part.

International air forces to headline the event

Among the main attractions will be the Fursan Al Emarat aerobatic team from the United Arab Emirates, which will return with the twin-engine Hongdu L-15 jet. The appearance will mark the first participation of a Chinese-designed jet trainer and fighter aircraft at the Greek air show.

Finland’s F-18 Hornet demonstration team will make its debut in Greece, while Spain’s Eurofighter Typhoon demonstration aircraft will also appear at Athens Flying Week for the first time.

Germany will be represented by a Eurofighter Typhoon and a Tornado in flight displays, while Austria’s Pilatus PC-7 team will return to Tanagra.

The event will also welcome the Canadian Skyhawks parachute team and France’s Phenix parachutists for their first appearances in Greece.

Greek Air Force showcases frontline aircraft

The Hellenic Air Force will feature several of its frontline aircraft, including the F-16 “Zeus” demonstration team, the T-6 “Daedalus” display aircraft, F-16 Vipers, Rafale fighters, Mirage 2000-5s, M-346 trainers and the iconic F-4 Phantom.

The F-4 Phantom, which is gradually being retired from active service, is expected to make one of its final public appearances.

The program will also include formation flights and operational demonstrations involving aircraft from the Greek Armed Forces alongside Special Operations units.

Historic aircraft and static displays

Visitors will also be able to see historic warbirds, including the Supermarine Spitfire MJ755 and the T-6 Harvard, both restored to flying condition through the Ikaros Foundation.

The static exhibition will feature aircraft open to visitors, including Belgium’s A400M Atlas military transport aircraft and Italy’s F-35 stealth fighter.

Additional participants include Aegean Airlines, aerobatic pilot Luca Bertossio and Dutch pilot Frank Van Houten flying the Sukhoi 26MX.

Alongside the flying displays, the event will host a commercial exhibition with aviation memorabilia, Hellenic Air Force products and information from aviation schools for visitors interested in careers in the aerospace sector.

Tickets for Athens Flying Week 2026 are available through the event’s official ticketing network.
