The body of a man, 26, who had gone missing, was identified on Thursday, February 19, after it had been discovered at the Isthmus of Corinth.
A missing alert notice had been issued on Wednesday by “The smile of the child” (Hamolgelo tou Paidiou), the country’s largest NGO focusing on child care support and protection.
The man had gone missing in the coastal suburb of Glyfada in southern Athens on February 14th.
The body was identified by his mother today, Thursday. His remains were found on the morning of Sunday, February 15th (a day after he went missing in Glyfada), near the Isthmus of Corinth, a narrow land bridge connecting the Peloponnese with mainland Greece.
Speaking to Greek media, the president of “The smile of the child” confirmed the man had been identified by his mother.
