The Orthodox Church in Greece marked Epiphany with solemnity and tradition, as the annual blessing of the waters and the ceremonial diving of the Holy Cross took place in Piraeus.

The day began with a Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Piraeus. Following the service, participants gathered at the pier opposite the Church of Saint Spyridon for the ritual blessing and the symbolic immersion of the cross into the waters.

The ceremony was attended by prominent officials, including President Konstantinos Tasoulas, Minister of Shipping Vassilis Kikilias, and Piraeus Mayor Yiannis Moralis, among others.

In Greece, the Epiphany tradition of diving for the cross in Piraeus dates back to the early 1900s, while similar ceremonies take place across all regions of the country.
